FORCE Technology featured in Discovery Channel series
The series ‘World’s biggest shipbuilders’ follows the development of three big projects at the Maersk group – some of which were tested in our facilities.

The British television production team Windfall Films visited the towing-tank facilities at FORCE Technology to film parts of their program series for Discovery Channel. The program, consisting of six one-hour episodes, portrays the design, building and installation of Maersk’s newest jack-up rig, tanker vessel and offshore support vessel.
The series has been shot throughout a couple of years to give the viewers a unique insight into the construction process of the rig and vessels and the work that goes into them.
FORCE Technology has been a part of the entire process of the offshore vessels, as we have performed model tests from the initial design stage to the finished product; e.g. CFD parametric optimisation, standard still water tests, manoeuvring and seakeeping tests in our towing tank.
The test featured in the series is the sea worthiness assessment where anti-roll tanks are placed on the top of the wheelhouse, in order to stabilise the vessel when at sea.
