Architecture and environmental psychology
The participants learn to apply psychological knowledge and methods in connection with e.g. construction, landscaping, city planning and infrastructure.
The goal is to create user-friendly buildings and environments. It is important that a building or an environment is experienced as comfortable, intuitive, foreseeable and safe. In architectural psychology, we work closely together with the architect and the city planner and contribute with psychological knowledge (from e.g. cognitive psychology) as well as observations of the users’ behavior or test of prototypes.
Target groupThe course is relevant for architects, city planners and owners of infrastructure - this could be contractors who are competing for e.g. new building, reconstruction, additions or landscaping.
ContentThe course is based on psychological theory and specific case-examples about e.g. the layout of hospitals, factories, control rooms, stores, amusement parks, train stations, infrastructure, buildings and ships.
The course also includes group work, reflection exercises and discussion assignments.
Tailor madeThe course is adjusted in collaboration with the customer in regards to the domain and field of the participants.
We also adjust the course to fit the expected number of participants as well as wishes regarding duration and depth.
