The ToFD course is for everyone needing comprehensive knowledge on ToFD ultrasonic testing level 2 in practice as well as the method’s application areas.

Time-of-Flight-Diffraction (ToFD) is a supplemental course for inspectors with practical experience and a UT-2 welding certificate who are going to use ToFD in the industry. The course meets the training requirements of EN ISO 9712.

Course content

The course in the ToFD ultrasonic testing method is a mix of theory and practical exercises. Through examination of many different test specimens and geometries with the ToFD inspection method, you will get a good understanding of the method’s applications, benefits and limitations. All practical exercises are initiated and monitored by our qualified instructors.

Every day, home assignments reviewing the ToFD theory are handed out and reviewed and discussed the following day together with the instructors.

Entry requirements

To participate in the ToFD course it is required that your math skills is at an elementary school level, as calculations are recurring in the lessons, the homework assignments and the exam.
