Gain control of water quality, corrosion and operation in technical systems
Incorrect water treatment can shorten the lifetime of a system and lead to corrosion, operational problems and unnecessary costs. In this advanced course, you gain a stronger basis for selecting the right water treatment and understanding how water quality affects corrosion in technical systems.
The course is relevant for anyone working with operation and maintenance of boiler systems, district heating systems, cooling systems or other water‑based systems who needs greater confidence when assessing water quality, chemical dosing and corrosion risks. You gain practical tools for making better decisions in systems where several factors interact. The course is offered exclusively as an in‑company course.
Outcome
What should you expect?
Who is the course relevant for?
The course is relevant for anyone responsible for operation and maintenance of water‑based technical systems who requires more than a general introduction. It is particularly relevant if you need to make decisions regarding water treatment, monitoring of water quality or handling corrosion in systems.
Typical participants include:
- Engineers
- Marine engineers
- Technicians responsible for operation and maintenance of boiler systems
- Personnel responsible for operation and maintenance of district heating systems
- Personnel responsible for operation and maintenance of cooling systems
What you gain from the course
The course provides you with a stronger basis for understanding the relationship between water treatment, water quality and corrosion in technical systems. You gain an overview of the most important water treatment methods and a better understanding of which water parameters influence system lifetime and operation.
You will learn to:
- Understand the purpose of water treatment in technical systems
- Gain an overview of raw water purification prior to use
- Assess the effect of chemical dosing on water quality
- Understand how water quality is monitored and controlled
- Identify which water parameters are critical for corrosion
- Gain insight into corrosion types, their appearance and causes
- Understand guidelines for water quality in technical systems
- Assess which actions are relevant when guideline limits are exceeded
What your organisation gains
The course provides your organisation with a stronger basis for selecting and managing water treatment more accurately in technical systems. This makes it easier to prevent corrosion, protect system lifetime and create better alignment between operation, monitoring and maintenance.
The course can contribute to:
- More reliable selection of water treatment solutions
- Improved control of water quality
- Reduced risk of corrosion and operational problems
- Stronger decision‑making when deviations in water quality occur
- Extended lifetime of technical systems and water‑based installations
Meet your Instructor
Søren Klinggaard is a chemical engineer with more than 30 years of experience in consultancy on water treatment for boiler systems, district heating systems, cooling systems and other water‑based systems. He has in‑depth knowledge of water treatment and operating parameters that affect these systems.
Søren has worked with both damage assessments and consultancy assignments aimed at optimising system operation and water quality.
