Overview of the sampling process

Step 1: Prepare for sampling

Before you start:

  • Use the materials provided in the particle sampling kit.
  • Avoid touching the sample unnecessarily.
  • Make sure the surroundings are clean.
  • Have your sample ID ready.

Step 2: Choose a method and collect the sample

Is the foreign body loose?

Place it in a sample container or on a stub and label the container with a sample ID.

Is the foreign body attached to a surface?

Choose a suitable method below. The methods are shown in order of priority, but the right method depends on the material and sampling location.
