Standards are essential for a well-functioning market, boosting both competitiveness and growth. We focus on developing standards that support a resilient, green, and digital internal market in Europe.
Standards set a joint direction
The EU's new standardisation strategy strengthens a resilient, green, and digital internal market. The focus is on key areas such as batteries, hydrogen quality, IoT, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, digital product passports, and upcoming "repairable" products. At the same time, existing standards are being updated to meet data protection, cybersecurity, and climate requirements. This applies to products, machinery, and societal aspects - such as the ongoing revision of noise standards for wind turbines.
