ERFA Club for Food Contact Materials - Purity of substances and materials

The next meeting is about the purity of substances and materials and will be held as a physical meeting in Vejen - with the possibility of online participation (link to online participation will be sent after the registration deadline).

The final program for the ERFA meeting is not yet available, but below you will find a preliminary program with the topics currently planned.

• The new FCM regulation (if it has been issued)
  
• Requirements for polymeric FCM in Japan.
  • A little history and current status.
  • How is documentation handled in relation to JP?
    
• Handling the requirements in 10/2011/EU, Article 3a, High Purity.
  • How do you document that the requirement has been met?
  • Do you have to have a complete impurity profile, or can less do it?
  • Are the requirements for starting materials different than for the finished plastic?
  • This topic is relevant in the context of all polymer types and to a large extent relevant in relation to the import of plastic from third countries.
    
• Harmful substances in FCM:
  • Which substances do we find in the different material types?
  • Which substances migrate?
  • Which substances can be traced in humans?
    
• Recycled plastic:
  • Why is rPET not allowed as FCM in China? (but we can obviously import it into the EU).
  • What is the purpose of a TTC assessment actually? (tied up on Article 3a).
  • South Korea defines conditions for recycling PP into FCM.
  • What is the status of PE/PP recycling in the EU?

Free for members of the ERFA Club for Food Contact Materials (up to 2 people per company, then 1,300 DKK per additional participant) The ERFA meeting is included as an activity in the ERFA club, but it is also possible to participate without being a member, which costs 3,100 DKK per participant.
