Resilience in Denmark’s water supply

The quality of our drinking water is under unprecedented pressure. New sources of contamination and stricter regulatory requirements (such as PFAS limits and the new EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive) require Danish stakeholders to act now. But which technologies actually work in practice, and how can they be implemented effectively? These are the questions we will explore at the seminar on resilience in Denmark’s water supply. 

To understand the issue, we need a clear picture of where we stand today, what the specific challenges are, and how the regulatory framework is described by the public authorities. Resilience must be secured here and now, while also taking future challenges into account. This means that we must first understand the underlying water quality challenges and then identify the measures needed to ensure clean drinking water – both for ourselves and for future generations. 

The seminar brings together the entire value chain, including the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, various universities, local and national utility companies, industry associations, and technology pioneers such as Veolia DK (Krüger) and BactiQuant.
