Power-to-X, wind energy, carbon capture, life science, and defence are among the areas in which Force Technology will develop new knowledge and technologies over the next four years, supporting Danish businesses and helping to address some of society’s most pressing challenges.
These focus areas form part of the new performance contract recently agreed with the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science. The agency has entered into performance contracts with all seven GTS institutes, with a combined funding framework of DKK 1.4 billion.
For Force Technology, this represents the largest performance contract in its history, covering 13 different initiatives that will deliver technological solutions to key societal challenges under the overarching theme of resilience.
Joining forces to establish a national resilience centre
As part of a joint performance contract initiative, the 7 GTS institutes have also joined forces to establish Resilience Centre Denmark. The centre will support the development of innovative solutions that help Danish companies become more robust and less vulnerable in response to an increasingly complex threat landscape.
Resilience Centre Denmark aims to strengthen Denmark’s technological capabilities in societal security and emergency preparedness while fostering the development of new technologies that enhance resilience across society. The centre will help ensure that Denmark has access to the latest and most advanced technologies by focusing on three main areas:
- Research and development: The centre conducts research and development across a range of technology fields, including flood simulation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and drone technologies.
- Technology transfer: The centre works to demonstrate and transfer new technologies to businesses and critical societal functions so they can be implemented in practice.
- Collaboration: The centre collaborates with Danish and international research institutions, private companies, industry organisations, and public authorities to advance the development of new technologies.
Facts about Resilience Centre Denmark
Resilience Centre Denmark is a national collaboration between the Alexandra Institute, Bioneer, DBI, DFM, DHI, Force Technology, and the Danish Technological Institute.
Each of the 7 GTS institutes contributes its own specialist expertise, creating a strong foundation for developing a more robust and resilient Denmark. This collective capability positions the centre as a national point of contact for resilience, supporting businesses as well as the public sector.
The centre is funded through performance contract grants from the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science, with an annual allocation of DKK 7.8 million for the period 2025-2028.
