Event information
Dear member of the IoT & Wireless Club,
We are happy to invite you to the September club meeting.
The meeting will be held in English and as a physical event.
Theme
Force Technology's Technology Lead Christian Kloch, Specialist Engineer Radheshyam Singh, and Specialist Jesper Salvesen will host a full day dedicated to Wi-Fi vs. Cellular: Performance, Compliance and Architecture Choices for Modern Wireless Systems.
Wi-Fi and Cellular are increasingly used for similar applications – but they are not interchangeable technologies. Their underlying architecture, radio behaviour, mobility support, security model and compliance requirements differ in important ways that affect both network design and product development.
Join us for a technical seminar exploring the differences between Wi-Fi and Cellular in practice.
We will cover wireless performance, key KPIs, compliance testing, security, and the decision criteria that matter when choosing the right connectivity architecture for enterprise, industrial and mission-critical environments.
Invite your network
You are welcome to forward this invitation to colleagues or contacts in your network. They select 'guest' when registering and can join once as a guest.
Best regards
The IoT & Wireless Club
Program
09:00-09:30: Arrival and breakfast
09:30-09:45: Welcome
Introduction to the day, the agenda and the key technology questions shaping modern wireless infrastructure. Why is the choice between Wi-Fi and Cellular becoming a strategic architecture decision rather than simply a connectivity preference?
09:45-10:30: Wi-Fi vs. Cellular: What are the technical differences in practice?
Wi-Fi and Cellular increasingly serve overlapping use cases, but they are built on fundamentally different design principles. This session provides a technical comparison of the two technologies and explains how those differences affect performance, scalability and operational robustness in real deployments
10:30-11:00: Coffee break and networking
11:00-12:00: Wireless performance in the real world
A strong signal does not necessarily mean a good user experience. This session focuses on how to evaluate wireless performance properly – and which measurements and KPIs actually matter when designing, troubleshooting or validating a wireless solution.
12:00-12:45: Lunch and networking
12:45-14:00: Wi-Fi vs. Celullar Compliance and pitfalls
Compliance is often seen as a final step, but it should be addressed early to reduce risk, avoid delays and support a smoother route to market. This session looks at key compliance requirements for wireless products, including differences between EU and FCC frameworks, testing considerations for WLAN and Cellular technologies, and common pitfalls to watch out for when selecting modules, designing products and planning market access
14:00-14:30: Coffee break and networking
14:30-15:15: Choosing the right wireless architecture: Wi-Fi, Cellular or hybrid?
For most organisations, the real challenge is not choosing a “winner” between Wi-Fi and Cellular, but deciding how to design the right architecture for their use case, risk profile and operating model. This final session turns the technical insights from the day into a practical decision framework
15:15-15:30: Observations and summary of the day
