EHEDG Advanced Hygienic design is a 3-day course providing you with the highest level of knowledge available on hygienic design and engineering of process equipment, process lines and facilities in food, biotech and pharma industry.
Master hygienic engineering and contamination control in food manufacturing
The EHEDG advanced course is designed for professionals working with hygienic design, equipment risk assess-ment, hygienic performance and contamination control in food manufacturing. By participating you gain in-depth knowledge of how equipment design, operation and cleaning influence food safety and how to manage complex hy-giene risks in practice.
This course - designed by EHEDG - fits in with our Academy and can be studied as standalone or as part of a structured learning journey.
Outcome
What can you expect
Who is the course relevant for
The course is designed for experienced professionals working with hygienic design and food safety in the food industry, including:
- Process and mechanical engineers
- Food safety, hygiene and QA specialists
- Cleaning and sanitation managers
- Consultants and auditors involved in equipment and plant assessments
What you will gain from the course
The course deepens your understanding of hygienic engineering and contamination control in complex food processing environments. You learn how advanced design principles, operational conditions and cleaning strategies interact and how these factors influence hygiene risks in practice.
After the course, you will be able to:
- Analyse complex contamination risks related to equipment and processing environments
- Apply advanced hygienic engineering principles in design, operation and assessment
- Evaluate the effectiveness of cleaning strategies in relation to equipment design
- Contribute qualified input to risk assessments, design reviews and improvement initiatives
What your organization gains
The EHEDG advanced course strengthens your organization’s ability to manage hygienic risks in complex food processing environments. The course supports more informed decisions related to equipment design, operation and improvement, helping to prevent contamination before it impacts production or food safety.
This leads to more robust processing lines, fewer hygiene-related deviations and a reduced risk of recalls or unplanned downtime. The course also strengthens internal competencies in risk assessment and technical dialogue with suppliers, auditors and authorities.
Content and process
Course content and format
The course combines theory, industry examples and professional discussions with a strong focus on real-life challenges.
