Follow-up of NDT personnel is handled in different ways. Force Academy is now launching a best-practice approach that simplifies the process and strengthens competence.

At the Norwegian NDT conference in May 2019, Force Academy (Force Technology’s Norwegian training department) presented the strategy for the future of learning within the NDT field. We shared our vision of creating a "toolbox" for Level 3 supervisors, making it easier and more efficient to follow up professionally with NDT technicians during their 5-year certification period.

Force Academy is now launching the first tool in this toolbox - the e-learning course "Refresher Course for NDT Technicians." This is a subscription-based course that gives you and your NDT technicians access to 5 e-learning courses in the MT, PT, RT, ET, and UT methods. The courses can be taken as many times as desired during the subscription period. Each course module is followed by a test, which provides a course certificate in the method if more than 70 % of the answers are correct. The course certificate can be used in connection with the renewal of the NDT certificate, according to the new requirements in ISO 9712.

FORCE Academy is developing a comprehensive follow-up program for the Level 3 service, which we have named "NDT-ReFresh." This is a digital program that ensures NDT technicians receive both theoretical and practical follow-up, fulfilling the requirements for 5-year renewal under the new version of ISO 9712. We are in dialogue with several customers to establish best practice for technical follow-up and competence development.
