Networking groups that create value
The networking groups at the Centre for Legal Metrology (CLM) have more than 10 years of experience in organising events and sharing knowledge about legal metrology in Denmark. As a member of a working group, you can expect to receive ongoing updates on:
- current measurement technology and expectations for the future
- installation conditions
- national and international legislation, including standards and regulatory documents (EN, OIML, WELMEC)
- internal verification of meters in operation
Force Technology chairs the CLM and manages 9 out of the 10 CLM working groups. In 2018, the working groups had more than 200 members in total, and we continue to see growing interest in our activities.
The working groups managed by Force Technology are
- Remote reading meters
- e-marking
- Software
- Weighing and dimension meters
- Meters for liquids other than water
- Thermal energy meters
- Electricity meters
- Gas meters
- Water meters
- Communication systems for meters
How to become a member of the CLM networking groups?
The groups are aimed at manufacturers, distributors, utility companies, authorities, housing associations and other users. Each networking group organises a minimum of three events per year, including group meetings and theme days.
You can become a member or learn more about meetings, membership and prices by contacting us.
Measurement guidelines CLM.VAND.01 and CLM.VARME.01
The metrological guidelines available below describe in detail the implementation of internal verification of water and thermal energy meters. They outline best practice, based on many years of experience at CLM. The guidelines are based on Sikkerhedsstyrelsens vejledning nr. 9464 af 20. juni 2018 om instrumentejerens egenkontrol af vand-, el- og varmemålere i brug covered by Sikkerhedsstyrelsens bekendtgørelse nr. 582 af 28. maj 2018 om anvendelse af måleinstrumenter til måling af forbrug af vand, gas, el eller varme.
A related værktøj til vurdering af resultat fra stikprøvekontrol has been developed.
Download CLM's tools for assessing the results of sample testing
Centre for Legal Metrology (CLM), in collaboration with Dansk Fjernvarme (Danish District Heating) and Force Technology, has developed a tool that utility companies can use when assessing the results of a single or double sample test on a batch of cold water meters or thermal energy meters.
For thermal energy meters, the tool can only be used for batches of complete thermal energy meters used in domestic households (not industry/commercial).
Note: The previous edition of the spreadsheet with the four tools from 19 and 27 November 2019 must not be used due to methodological errors.
Guidelines for the tool for assessing results from sample testing
Based on the sample size and results, the tool provides a recommendation for the maximum period until the next sample check of the batch.
The recommendation is made using a statistical method, which is described under the "Method" tab in the Excel sheet.
It is always the responsibility of the meter owner to ensure adequate self-inspection of settlement meters, taking into account the actual metrological conditions, experience with the meter type, etc.
The recommendation from this tool can therefore only be used as an aid in the assessment and should always be supplemented with an evaluation of the specific metrological conditions, which must be documented in writing either in the tool's comment field or in a separate document.
For thermal energy meters, Dansk Fjernvarme can provide guidance on general questions about self-inspection and the use of the tool. However, for specific assistance with practical application or assessment of the metrological conditions for a batch, please refer to your own advisor.
Force Technology can provide consultancy in relation to self-inspection and use of the tool.
Further guidance can be found in the metrological guidelines.
