Development of new tools to be used by national road administrations and authorities in order to reduce nuisance from road-traffic noise.

Purpose

The purpose of the FAMOS project is to develop new tools, which can be used by national road administrations and authorities to reduce nuisance from road-traffic noise.

The primary purpose of the FAMOS project is to provide a better understanding of people’s subjective perception of road-traffic noise. This is sought by examining which factors affect people’s perception and evaluation of noise as well as by describing those both qualitatively and quantitatively.

Our contribution in the project will be based on our expertise within measurements, reduction, and consultancy services for traffic noise and our international experience with sensory evaluation methods and psycho-acoustics.
