Precise and accurate measurements drive transparency in the green hydrogen market. Our services contribute to a sustainable future by ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Green hydrogen market key to reducing CO2 emissions

Vehicles like trucks and buses are responsible for significant CO2 emissions from road transport. Hydrogen-powered trucks and buses are a promising strategy to mitigate CO2 emissions in the heavy-duty transport sector.

The first step to trading green energy is ensuring accurate measurements

You can't manage what you can't measure. We are an Issuing Authority under OIML. We have metrological test equipment that supports the development and operation of hydrogen filling stations for heavy-duty vehicles.

Together with the independent Notified Body FORCE Certification A/S, we offer a wide range of hydrogen infrastructure services, including type approvals, calibration, certification, and verification, benefitting manufacturers, station owners, operators and consumers by ensuring accurate measurements, compliance, and safety:

Type approval for hydrogen refuelling stations

Compliance with national legal metrology regulations is essential for public hydrogen refuelling stations with commercial sales. Manufacturers and owners ensure that their hydrogen dispensers follow national metrology regulations for calibration and quantity measurements. Third-party independent type approval is an essential step to fulfil this. OIML R 139 is widely recognised for certification internationally for type approval and verification. It provides the basis for easy market access and keeps consumers safe. Our independent Notified Body FORCE Certification A/S provides accredited certification services, including the OIML R139:2018 certificate of conformity for hydrogen refuelling stations on the hydrogen dispenser's measurement system.

Verification of hydrogen refuelling stations

We provide on-site verification services for hydrogen refuelling stations, including initial verification and re-verification.

Clean Energy Partnership (CEP) evaluation

According to the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), every publically accessible hydrogen refuelling station requires approval for the implemented refuelling protocol to conform to EN 17127. In addition, the H2 quality provided must meet the requi-rements of EN 17124. In Germany and more European countries, the Clean Energy Partner-ship has been mandated to evaluate the factory acceptance test (FAT) reports and site acceptance test re-ports. In the evaluation process, it is verified whether the refuelling protocol has been implemented correctly. Accordingly, the stand-ards are fulfilled and safe refuelling is guaranteed. CEP has trained FORCE Technology to evaluate that FAT/SAT reports conform to ISO 19880-1:2020 for H35 and H70 Hydrogen Refuelling Stations.

Mobile test rig for hydrogen refuelling stations

Our unique mobile test rig for the type approval and verification of hydrogen refuelling stations is a reference system which establishes metrological traceability to the basic SI units.

The mobile test rig for hydrogen refilling stations is a trailer-based mobile solution that enables on-site tests at manufacturers and hydrogen refilling stations.

The test rig is used to calibrate hydrogen flow meters as part of required tests according to type approval and verification.

The solution is based on a gravitational measuring system with reinforced PED-approved pressure vessels with a nominal pressure of 700 bar.
