IoT solution for wastewater management wins IoT Award 2024
26 September 2024
AMI Global has won the IoT Award 2024 with a predictive IoT solution for wastewater management. The award was presented at the Digitalisation Fair in Odense on 25 September 2025.
Liftstation Predict anticipates problems before they occur
AMI Global's Liftstation Predict was one of 3 strong finalists in the competition. The solution stands out through its ability to predict and monitor operational disruptions in wastewater pumping stations. By combining IoT technology and data analytics, Liftstation Predict can identify potential issues before they occur, enabling operators to take preventive action and reduce both downtime and emergency maintenance costs.
“Through predictive maintenance, Liftstation Predict can optimise existing infrastructure in a simple and efficient way. The solution clearly demonstrates how IoT can improve operations without requiring major investments,” says Lennart Oleg Larsen, IoT Community Lead at Nordic IoT Centre.

Wastewater utilities in Europe and the US are focusing on IoT
Liftstation Predict was launched in May 2023 and is already being used by several utility companies in Denmark and internationally.
Wastewater utilities are increasingly exploring how IoT solutions can address existing challenges while preventing future operational issues. This trend is evident across both Europe and the United States, where digitalisation remains a key priority and demand is growing for ready-to-use solutions that are easy to implement.
When utility companies evaluate IoT solutions, they typically focus on cost savings, improved insight into future maintenance requirements and the reduction of environmentally harmful discharges. Liftstation Predict addresses these needs through actionable data and real-time analytics, enabling operators to make smarter and more sustainable decisions.
The judging panel selected AMI Global’s solution because it is practical, easy to implement and capable of making a significant difference for both the environment and operational economics.

Strong candidates competed for the IoT Award 2024
“The judging panel selected AMI Global’s solution because it is practical, easy to implement and capable of making a significant difference for both the environment and operational economics,” explains Lennart Oleg Larsen.
The IoT Award 2024 attracted a broad range of innovative solutions addressing current challenges across sectors including energy, construction, healthcare, and logistics. Many of the projects shared a common focus on sustainability, data-driven decision-making and the potential of IoT technologies to improve both productivity and quality of life.
“A clear trend is the growing use of machine learning and AI for prediction and optimisation, as well as solutions that combine social benefits with reduced CO₂ emissions through energy optimisation. This year’s applicants demonstrate a strong commitment to developing sustainable technology solutions for the future,” says Lennart Oleg Larsen.
