The course is for you who need to gain a basic knowledge of hygienic design in order to gain an overview of the process’s specialists perform in the field. It may be that you work with project management, production, purchasing or finance.

Aim

Participants gain insight into the essential aspects of hygienic design based on EU legislation, standards, guidelines and practical examples.
The aim of the course is to provide participants with knowledge of hygienic design and associated areas at a level that enables them to understand how to participate in the activities that take place in their own company in this context.
If you need a deeper understanding of hygienic design and is involved in specifying requirements or/and is designing equipment the EHEDG Advanced Hygienic Course (HYG 11) is more appropriate for you. Please note that this fundamental course is not designed to be a prequal for the advanced course as there are overlap in the content.

Content and format

  • EU legislation in the form of the Machinery Regulation, standards e.g. DS/EN 1672-2:2020 and relevant regulations for food contact materials 1935/2004 and 2023/2006.

  • Methodologies for risk assessment.

  • Hygiejnisk design inkl. eksempler fra EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group) guidelines.
  • Sources of contamination in food processes and specifically issues related to microbiological contamination.

  • Cleaning in practice, focusing on a risk-based approach to adequate cleaning and methods of validation.
The course is taught as an online course in English, based on material from EHEDG designed for the Fundamental Hygienic Design Course and is supported by practical examples. There is also group work.
 
The course is also offered in Danish primarily as a physical course.

Trainer

Alan Friis is an EHEDG authorized trainer and evaluation officer and has worked with hygienic design since 1998 at Technical University of Denmark, as an independent consultant and since 2020 as a senior team leader at FORCE Technology.

Registration

Upon registration you receive an order confirmation and a request for detailed information. The course fee is invoiced prior to the course and must be paid at latest 1 week before course start.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation of participation must be sent to FORCE Technology (ehedg@forcetechnology.com)
  • Up to four weeks in advance of the event, course fee will be reimbursed except for an administration fee on 100 €.

  • Thereafter and until 2 weeks in advance of the event, 50% of the course fee will be reimbursed.
  • For cancellations within 2 weeks prior to the event, the full participation fee will be charged.
In stead of cancellation, a colleague can always attend on a fully paid place.
