Topic
At the next Power-to-X Safety Network meeting, we turn our attention to safety in PtX operations and the organizational conditions that determine whether technical and procedural barriers work as intended.
This session explores safety culture, focusing on how academic, operational, personal, and local cultures shape risk perception and decision-making. We will touch on why safety challenges often arise at the interfaces between disciplines and how better cultural alignment can improve safety.
Safe PtX operations are not only a question of design, safeguards, and compliance. They are also a question of safety culture, competence, and learning: how people interpret signals, follow procedures under time pressure, maintain barriers, and respond to deviations before they escalate.
We invite you to join this session to discuss how safety culture and competence can be treated as operational capabilities, not slogans, and how they can be built systematically across the PtX lifecycle.
Speakers
We will have the following speakers presenting to address the topic:
- European Energy – Carsten Sørensen, Plant Manager Kassø and Måde Hydrogen Plants
- Head Energy – Lena Klüver, HSEQ Team Manager
After each speaker we will open the floor to questions and encourage active discussion.
