Shock and vibration testing secures reliable systems in the field

Dantherm Group develops mobile heating and cooling solutions in refugee camps, emergency shelters, and military installations in tents and container units. These systems ensure proper indoor climates for people and electronics, often under temporary conditions.

The equipment is deployed in extreme environments, from deserts to war-torn cities. Robustness and reliability are therefore critical. The products must withstand transport by train, truck, aircraft or helicopter. FORCE Technology tests this through shock and vibration testing.

"The tests simulate, for example, 1,600 kilometres of driving across rough terrain. This gives us peace of mind that our systems will not fall apart during transport," says Henrik Faber Laursen, R&D Manager at Dantherm Group. The tests follow MIL-STD-810 and AECTP, military standards with strict durability requirements. FORCE Technology has the capacity to test even large and heavy units, which few others can offer.

"We are not aware of any other providers in Denmark that can deliver this – at least not on the scale we need," he adds.

An accredited report is a requirement in tenders

Dantherm Group does not test solely for internal validation. An accredited report is mandatory for many projects, especially those involving NATO, NGOs, and public authorities.

"An accredited test report is a prerequisite for bidding on assignments," explains Henrik Faber Laursen.

The test results provide Dantherm Group with both internal assurance and external documentation. The reports are used in data sheets and as proof for customers.

"As a result, we have a product we trust, one we can send to market without fearing warranty claims," he adds.

Long-term partnership drives development

Dantherm Group has worked with FORCE Technology for over ten years. The collaboration has led to valuable technical input and continuous product improvement.

"We have become significantly better at designing robust products. Previously, a system would fail after 20 minutes, now we pass the tests every time," says Henrik Faber Laursen.

The partnership makes the testing process efficient from quotation to execution. "It gets easier each time, because we know each other and understand what is required," he says.

A flexible and responsive collaboration

FORCE Technology's test facilities are highly flexible. Regardless of power requirements or setup, Dantherm Group has always been able to get its systems tested.

"It is easy to have our equipment tested, even when we have special requirements. It has become the kind of partnership where I just pick up the phone when we need a shock and vibration test," concludes Henrik Faber Laursen from Dantherm Group.
