Business transformation - optimising business transformation processes
Technology – used in products, services and supply chains – is an effective driver for change in organisations. Technology experts are the core competency of FORCE Technology, helping you design the best products and optimise your supply chain.
But to gain optimal effect from technology-driven changes, you also need to transform the organisation to take full advantage of new possibilities and new ways of working. And the transformation experts must work together with the technology experts.
- Business modelling – to design new or adjusted business models which takes advantage of the technology change. The basis for this expertise is the methods and tools developed by Osterwalder and Pigneur in Strategyzer.
- Business casing – to calculate the effect on a business of new IoT Solutions, new services, digitalisation of supply chains, etc. FORCE Technology has its own business case method integrated in the design thinking process for new IoT solutions.
- Transformation project management – to manage the business change activities in parallel with the IoT-enablement of products, services and supply chains. Taking advantage of Prince2, IPMA or company specific approaches.
- Change management – to plan, coordinate and execute organisational changes along with technology development. Typically using ADKAR or other change management approaches.
- Business process design – to rethink or adjust business processes in accordance with the technological change. Based on Lean, Kanban, BPM or other process approaches.
- Learning and training – to help businesses to acquire the necessary skills for IoT and Servitization. FORCE Technology is running CxO master classes in IoT as well as the IoT & Wireless Club with a more technical level.

Data and IoT - understanding data releases the full value of IoT
One of the central aspects of an IoT solution is data: IoT devices collect data, data is being transported through the IoT system, potentially combined with multiple other data sources, and data gets processed and analysed to provide the results we are looking for.
When designing IoT solutions, it is important to understand the types, amounts and quality of data necessary to process and analyse, for getting the results that will deliver the value you are looking for.
FORCE Technology has data experts with the following competencies
- Evaluation and identification of what data is needed to achieve a specific result
- Analysis of existing data sources to evaluate potential use
- Data flow and system architecture design
- Identification of machine learning and deep learning methods best suited for a specific purpose
- Construction of Proof-Of-Concepts of a data solutions, to test and evaluate the feasibility of a potential solution
- Proof-Of-Concept to demonstrate the potential of specific machine learning and deep learning methods
- Evaluation of data quality requirements to achieve a desired result
- Exploration and mapping of computational potential of an IoT system, both overall and individual sub parts

Digital supply chains - optimising the digital supply chain with IoT
One of the major benefits of utilizing IoT within supply chains is that the potential for optimization and improvements becomes visible and transparent.
FORCE Technology’s expertise is to focus on the value that can be generated from leveraging new technologies in a supply chain. With a systematic approach to mapping and understanding the current situation, we identify the largest potential for improvement by taking advantage of the opportunities of IoT, mapping the short, medium and long term benefits. Another important aspect of introducing new technologies is to provide a holistic view on the benefits, giving an understanding not only of the direct benefits, but also the extended value.
- Mapping and analysis of existing supply chains, including the process steps and information flow, decision making and stakeholder involvement, measuring performance and mapping of problems. and the cause-and-effect relations.
- Identification of areas in a supply chain with the largest improvement potential.
- Creating concepts for IoT solutions that have potential for optimizing critical aspects and describing data and components.
- Evaluation improvement potential of a new IoT solution, testing the performance of critical principles. This involves prototyping and testing concepts and evaluating pros and cons of the proposed concept.
- Evaluation of a company’s supply chain on a strategical level, suggesting overall approaches for a digital transformation.

Innovation and design - combining technology, experience and ideas
Innovating within IoT technology requires a many-faceted approach in order to succeed, involving the feasibility of the technical aspects, the desirability of the envisioned solution and the viability in the market.
Our designers are specialists in designing and leading the innovation process, selecting the best suited methods for each case, and continuously evaluating which questions and hypothesis to prioritise.
The focus is on how to use the time and money available to provide most value in the innovation process. Our innovation and design experts always have a collaborative approach, involving both our other experts, and the relevant stakeholders in their work.
- Design Thinking and design research. Creating and testing a potential solution lets you understand the problem in depth, leading to even better solutions.
- User and field investigation, gathering insights about the existing situation and context, e.g. interviews, observations, focus groups, participant observation etc.
- Facilitating workshop involving ideation, brainstorming, co-creation and knowledge gathering.
- Translating context and user insights into requirements for potential solutions.
- User and field testing with POC / prototypes / pretotypes.
- Facilitation of interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Project management of innovation and design projects.
- Evaluation and exploration of new IoT solutions through concept descriptions, scenarios, user stories, user journey maps, wizard of oz, fake door testing, design panel, etc.
- Evaluation and selection between multiple potential solutions based on results from conducted investigations and prior results and experiences.

Servitization - transforming businesses into service-based companies
Responding to an increasingly competitive market, with industrial customers asking for more services and responding to an increased focus on operational expenses while minimizing capital expenses, many manufacturing firms see both a necessity and opportunities to extend their businesses following the downstream value chain to the customer and consumer.
To be successful, servitization requires not only adding services to products, but also building a new business approach through a shift from selling products to selling product support services.
Our ability to support companies through servitization is based on leading over 130 companies through transformation processes of turning product-based businesses into service-oriented business models, since 2019. Through the Servitize.dk project, we have contributed to successful implementation of servitization in both small and large companies in Denmark.
- Servitization transformation and navigation through product life-cycle services, product support services, process support services and process delegation services
- Value chain flow analysis
- Value Proposition Insight Tools based on extended Industrial knowledge
- Alignment in organisations through workshops
- Value proposition modelling
