Auralisation: Motorway noise compared to expressway noise at different distances
Express- and motorway noise at a distance of 30 and 100 metres.
Listen to expressway and motorway noise. The expressway noise represents a two-lane road (15,000 vehicles/24h at 80 km/h). The motorway noise represents a four-lane motorway (59,000 vehicles/24 h at 110 km/h).
The examples show differences in traffic flow and speed at a distance of 30 and 100 metres.
Note: Due to the differences in traffic flow you should listen to the sound files continuously for some time – don’t make frequent jumps between the two sound files.
