Food safety and microbiology
Consulting within microbiological food safety, cleaning of production facilities, validation of cleaning procedures and hygienic design.
This may in turn result in poor press, legal claims and intensified inspections from the authorities. Thus, food safety must be considered in all operations and processes in food production.
Own control with risk assessment can ensure food safetyRisk assessment is an important part of own control, and a correctly performed risk assessment ensures that pitfalls in the production have been thought through, so that your own control works optimally and as intended.
FORCE Technology holds specialised knowledge on food microbiology, including detection and handling of pathogenic bacteria and of biofilm.
We consult on:
- Microbiological challenges in food production
- Handling thermophilic and thermo resistant germs in the dairy industry (a key area of expertise)
- Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization processes
- Assessment of the results microbiological analysis
- Choice of materials for production equipment, based on the conditions during processing and cleaning
- Assessment of applied hygienic design in existing production facilities and in connection with new designs
- Documentation of food contact materials in equipment and packaging
- Design of production facilities
- Quality control in industrial laboratories
- Own control, quality and food safety management systems (ISO 22000, BRC and IFS).
Microbiological control and analysisIn food production it is often necessary to check the microbiological status of the production equipment, the raw materials, and the finished product, in order to document that the legal limits are observed.
Adjusted analysis methodsIn certain cases the normally applied tests methods for microbiological analysis are not adequate for detecting stressed microorganisms – such as the microorganisms from biofilm, which are a frequent source of recurring microbiological contamination. In our laboratory we take the time needed to adjust our methods so that the detection of stressed microorganisms is significantly improved.
When dealing with quality related issues it is often of great benefit to be able to determine the numbers and diversity of microorganisms, in order to assess the root cause of the quality issue, and to evaluate possible solutions.
Solutions to challenges on food safetyFORCE Technology has many years of experience in advising the food industry. We have our own laboratories and a substantial base of experience with management systems in the food industry.
Watch our webinars with focus on hygienic design
Hygenic design with focus on EHEDG guidelines and good design processes
Update you knowledge on hygienic design of production facilities and the involved processes of qualifying designs and the subsequent qualification.
Hygienic design is crucial for proper process hygiene and the first step is to use hygienic components and the next to combine them in a hygienic manner.
The webinar will focus on the general process of assuring hygienic design of a process line and hygienic components i.e. EHEDG certified equipment and the application of the V-model as a project tool to document and qualify hygiejnic design in a process.
CFD simulations of processing systems
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a simulation tool used to calculate and solve flow-related problems, such as the aerodynamics of a car, the cooling of a battery, or the combustion process inside a boiler. A CFD analysis can be highly beneficial during the design phase of any flow system by calculating full-scale problems under several operating conditions and avoiding expensive experimental tests.
Since CFD allows 3D full-scale simulations of complex geometries and physics, it is an excellent tool for design, validation and compliance of processing systems, and gives a complete overview of the product before making a physical prototype.
The purpose of this webinar is to discuss
- why use CFD in the design of processing systems?
- how do we apply CFD efficiently in this sector?
- what applications can benefit from CFD simulations?
When doing so, we will present stories/cases from the food and pharma industries where CFD simulations have made a difference.
