Interdisciplinary networks and clusters

• AIDC – Automatic Identification and Data Capture

  The mission of AIDC Denmark is to promote the use of automatic identification and data capture in Denmark.

  AIDC is the professional network for everybody interested in networking, knowledge and advice within automatic identification and data capture. AIDC Denmark is an association that helps its members gain advantages by effectively applying automatic identification and data capture. The purpose of the association is, on a non for-profit basis, to widen the knowledge about the opportunities with AIDC technologies for individuals, public administration, associations, as well as private companies in Denmark.
  
  AIDC Denmark operates as a non for-profit association, where the activities are primarily funded through the members’ subscriptions. Besides information about the technology, the association must also promote development and exchange of experiences in all areas in connection with practical application of AIDC technology, both nationally and internationally, as well as provide the members with opportunities for being informed about the latest practical and theoretical development in the field.
  
  FORCE Technology is part of AIDC Denmark to connect with other national and international organisations, companies and universities, to share knowledge about new research, new technologies and new methods. Specifically, we collaborate with the network and its partners to create and inspire about how IoT technology can be utilised to create value within automatic data identification and data capture.

• AIOTI - the Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation

  AIOTI aims to strengthen the dialogue and interaction among Internet of Things (IoT) players in Europe and contribute to the creation of a dynamic European IoT ecosystem to speed up the adoption of IoT. Thus, it is a natural partner within IoT for FORCE Technology. The organisation unites more than 150 members, consisting of private companies, research and technology organisations (RTO), universities and standards development organisations. The focus is to coordinate the efforts within IoT innovation in Europe and to collaborate with international actors. 

  The work is portioned into 13 working groups where FORCE Technology primarily contributes to WG03 in standardisation and following the efforts in the WG02 on innovation ecosystems.  

  The focus for FORCE Technology is to connect with other international innovation organisations within IoT and share knowledge in new developments within IoT. The value for the community is that we can showcase the IoT innovations in Denmark internationally to attract attention and collaborations with Danish IoT innovators.

• CenSec

  CenSec (the Danish Centre for Defence, Space, and Security) is the primary cluster organisation for small- and medium-sized Danish businesses that are currently — or wish to become — vendors for the defence, space, and security industry.

  In 2020, CenSec was selected as one of a total of 14 Danish business clusters.

  By offering companies assistance in building market knowledge, capabilities, and training, they can participate in business networks, create new businesses, and strengthen innovation.

• Environmental Technology (Inno-MT)

  The Innovation Network for Environmental Technology (Inno-MT) focuses on bringing Danish environmental technology businesses into leading positions through matchmaking, knowledge sharing, internationalisation, and entrepreneurial support. ("MT" stands for the phrase "environmental technology" in Danish.) 
  
  Inno-MT seeks to promote innovation in Denmark's environmental technology sector with a particular focus on small- and medium-sized businesses, by:

  • focusing more on innovation from members and the government
  • increasing knowledge and insight into requirements and barriers for innovation
  • promoting collaboration for the purpose of developing concrete projects with business and
  • export prospects

• Copenhagen Hardware Alliance - CPHHW

  The Copenhagen Hardware Alliance is a community for hardware technology practitioners.

  Innovators struggle to design, develop, manufacture and distribute their products. Furthermore, the Danish hardware ecosystem is fragmented, and a collaborative culture is lacking.

  Therefore, the purpose of CPHHW is to strengthen the hardware technology ecosystem in Denmark and facilitate a stronger collaborative culture amongst practitioners working with hardware entrepreneurship. The CPHHW thus aims at bringing together Danish-based practitioners working with hardware and build a support system and platform for thought leaders, service providers, investors, incubators, and entrepreneurs working with hardware to meet up, network, exchange knowledge and collaborate.

  FORCE Technology was one of the initial founders, together with CIID and the municipality of Copenhagen, to start this loosely connected network, now run by IDA (the Danish Society of Engineers), Danish Design Centre and DTU / Futurebox. The role of FORCE Technology is to continuously help the hardware start-up community, by providing a platform and network directed towards their special needs.

• Danish Standards IoT

  Standards are essential for deploying new technology, both for reference frameworks for emerging technologies and for market approval and security evaluations. Standards provide a shortcut into architectures and interoperability for IoT and how to implement the technology safely. 

  FORCE Technology is thus committed to mapping standards, participating in the policy work regarding standards and contributing to new standards. We participate in a long line of working groups at Danish standards association.

  Within the areas of IoT, data and service innovation, we participate in:

  • National standardisation committee on cyber- and information security S-441  
    Following and contributing to standards for cyber- and information security and related technologies such as cloud, biometry, IoT, signatures, and identification cards. Our primary effort is to contribute to the international standards from ISO/IEC for IoT including the IoT reference architecture and on following the cyber security standards for IoT. 
  • National standardisation committee on sustainable cities and communities – smart city S-491
    Following and contributing to standards for sustainable cities and communities. We are primarily contributing to the national guides on how to apply standards for smart city development.
  • Standardisation political forum 
    An advisory role for the board and upper management of the Danish standards association on the political and legislation aspects on topics relevant to the Danish standards association development, influence and recognition as a standardisation organisation. The group consist of multiple industry and consumer interest associations. We have been appointed by the Danish industry association as experts within standardisation of Information and communication technology. 

  The work with the Danish standards enables us to interact with multiple international standardisation organisations and to have access and contribute to the drafts and completed standards from:

  • ISO - International Organisation for standardisation
  • IEC - International Electrotechnical Commission
  • ETSI - European Telecommunications Standards Institute 
  • CEN - European Committee for Standardization
  • CENELEC – European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization
  • ITU - International Telecommunication Union

  The participation in the activities contributes to a harmonisation of the national and international developments within IoT, such that standardised technologies can be used widespread among different domains and sectors.

  The standard knowledge is a large part of our work with the partners in the Nordic IoT Centre, where we use reference architectures for a common understanding of IoT. And in the IoT & wireless club where every meeting begins with a standard overview of new technological standards and on new harmonised standards.

• Danish trustlabel for IT security and data accountability

  The Danish trust label for IT security and data accountability is funded by the Confederation of Danish Industry.

  The purpose is to create a label that creates transparency for IT security and data accountability for Danish companies. FORCE Technology contributes with expertise knowledge within IoT in the advisory group along with other key experts for IT security and domain knowledge.

  The label will be used for motivation to:

  • Increase the level of IT security and data accountability in the Danish companies
  • Increase business value for the individual companies
  • Create trust in the company and their partners
  • Make IT security and data accountability a Danish position of strength

  The benefit for society is that IoT will be integrated into the label ensuring that companies developing and adopting IoT can obtain the label. This will enable business-to-business and business-to-consumer trust for their solution and thus reduce the barriers for IoT adoption.

• DI Digital - Confederation of Danish Industry Digital

  DI Digital is the Danish ICT and Electronics Federation representing companies in the IT, electronics, communications and telco industries - from entrepreneurs to global companies. Many of the suppliers in Nordic IoT Centre are represented.

  FORCE Technology is working in DI Digital to improve the technology transfer conditions and possibilities for the Danish IoT industry.

  Many of our research and innovation projects are created and developed based on ideas and feedback from the members of DI Digital. Being part of DI Digital gives us unique insight into the challenges and needs of the digital industry in Denmark. And many of the labs and hubs have been launched to create an easier access to knowledge, insights, methods, tools and services for the IoT industry. 

  As an RTO-institute, FORCE Technology is obliged to deliver technological knowhow and expertise to private businesses and to public institutions, thereby increasing the innovation and competitive power of both business and society through the accelerated adoption of technology.

• Digital Lead

  Digital Lead is the National Danish Cluster organization for digital technologies. The cluster functions as a hub for digital innovation for companies developing digital solutions and for sectors in need for digitalization. This covers fields such as IoT, smart things, software development, AI, and other digital technologies. 

  FORCE Technology is a lead partner in Digital Lead and contributes with expertise in the following areas

  • IoT development
  • Servitization and business models for digital businesses 
  • Smart products 
  • Product compliance for digital products

  Digital Lead enables engagement with Danish companies and public stakeholders supporting digital growth in Denmark. 

  Together with Digital Lead and partners, FORCE Technology participates in: 

  • Events, workshops and other knowledge dissemination activities
  • Demonstrations projects with Danish companies 

  The work and engagement in Digital Lead supports the continuous development of IdemoLab and Nordic IoT Centre.

• Horizon Europe Reference Group

  FORCE Technology participates in several reference groups for the European research programme Horizon Europe (EUH). The Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education has established reference groups within the areas of:

  • Health 
  • Digitization, industry and space
  • Climate, energy and mobility
  • Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environmental issues

  Through our engagement in these groups – that involve representatives from the industry, the universities and GTS (RTO) institutes – we get insights into the current trends of research and can influence the focus areas of different EU research calls.

  The agency has put these groups together to keep the Danish participation rate in the European framework programmes high, thereby strengthening Danish research and innovation. The group’s goal is to ensure at least 2.5% Danish participation in the programmes.

• DigitalLead

  DigitalLead is a nation-wide Danish cluster for digital technologies. It is a hub for digital innovation — not only for businesses that develop digital solutions, but also for other sectors with a need for innovative digital solutions.

  As a digital cluster, DigitalLead focuses on digital and technological solutions. It builds on the strong positions of Danish research institutes and businesses in such fields as AI, IoT, cybersecurity, VR, AR, big data, DevOps, blockchain, RPA, and so on.

  In the autumn of 2020, DigitalLead was selected by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and the Danish Board of Business Development as one of 14 clusters that will promote innovation and growth in Danish business. This makes DigitalLead the official national cluster for digital technologies in Denmark.

• IoT Network - Confederation of Danish Industry

  The IoT network at the Confederation of Danish Industry is a knowledge sharing and policy discussion forum for members. The network focuses on IoT and smart city solutions. The key discussion topics are knowledge sharing, technological trends, business development, showcasing and IoT relevant legislation and policy.

  The network is essential for interaction with the Confederation of Danish industry on how to innovate with IoT and to gather knowledge of the needs for FORCE Technology's actions as a RTO within IoT and smart city activities.

• Lifestyle and Design Cluster

  Lifestyle and Design Cluster is an innovation network working to promote innovation and sustainable growth, primarily in small and medium-sized interior and clothing companies as well as in the creative industries. 

  The goal is to create growth and development through bridge building activities, projects and networks between companies and knowledge, research and educational institutions. Moreover, it is the cluster’s job to identify needs and initiate appropriate activities to ensure the proper insight into innovative new opportunities for the industries.

  The vision of Lifestyle and Design Cluster is to be a catalyst for the Danish interior and clothing industries and ensure they are among the most innovative in the world. Being part of Lifestyle and Design Cluster, companies benefit from the network’s broad dialogue-based interface with the business community and, through their many different projects and activities, where they generate new knowledge which is communicated via events, and on their website via cases and news updates.

  FORCE Technology is part of Lifestyle and Design Cluster to connect with other national and international organizations, companies and universities, to share knowledge about new research, new technologies and new methods. Specifically, we collaborate with the network and its partners to create and inspire about how IoT technology can be utilised to create value for the innovation network’s member companies in the Danish interior and clothing industry.

• MADE - Manufacturing Academy of Denmark

  MADE - Manufacturing Academy of Denmark - is a Danish cluster for production.

  In MADE, companies, universities and GTS institutes meet and collaborate to create new, innovative solutions for Danish production companies within e.g. 3D printing, automation, smart factories and products, rapid product development and production management.

  In MADE, the business-related activities will be characterized by high professionalism, knowledge sharing and matchmaking, and they will be especially designed for SMEs. The cluster gives Danish production players insight into the potentials of the new technologies and methods and seeks to accelerate the development and digitalisation of Danish industry.

• Smart City Cluster

  Smart City Cluster is the national Danish cluster organisation focused on smart cities. The cluster functions as a gathering point for cities, research environments, companies and municipalities working with smart cities in Denmark. The cluster covers topics such as: public private partnerships, smart mobility, energy management, city resource optimisation, digitalisation etc.

  FORCE Technology is a lead partner in Smart City Cluster and contributes with expertise in the following areas:

  • IoT for smart cities
  • Standardisation for communication and data in smart cities
  • Demonstration and valuation of smart city technology
  • Analysis of smart city topics

  Participation in Smart City Cluster enables FORCE Technology to engage with Danish stakeholders in the field of smart cities and support the development of smart cities in Denmark.

  Together with Smart City Cluster and partners, FORCE Technology participates in:

  • Events, workshops and other knowledge dissemination activities
  • Demonstrations projects with Danish companies
  • Analysis of smart city topics

  The work and engagement in Smart City Cluster supports the continuous development of IdemoLab and Nordic IoT Centre and expands our network to companies and other stakeholders.

• Tech that Counts - Confederation of Danish Industry

  The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) has recognised that society will dramatically change in the coming years. This is driven by the introduction of artificial intelligence, robots and other digital technologies, which will transform our job functions and our society. Therefore, DI has established the focus area "Tech that counts". 

  As a leader within one of these digital technologies, FORCE Technology contributes with expert knowledge to the area, to create:

  • A digital transition of the Danish companies
  • Digital accountability as a Danish position of strength
  • Digital growth environments
  • Workforce digital competence development

  This is enabled by activities such as tailor made development projects, policy development, digital competence building activities, knowledge sharing, networks and analyst reports. 

  In the focus area, the focus is the human-centric approach where the human to technology interaction is key into releasing the potential of the digital technologies and tools.

  FORCE Technology is committed to facilitate the adoption of IoT technology and see the collaboration with DI with respect to policy work and analyst reports as essential for the societal adoption of IoT. For the benefit of both the Danish industry and the society at large.
