SenseLab's laboratories are world-renowned and comply with international standards, providing fast, reliable, and flexible sound quality and sensory evaluation for hi-tech products.
SenseLab uses Genelec loudspeakers configured for major broadcast layouts, including 2.0, 5.1, 7.1, 9.1, 11.1, and 22.2. The reproduction system can easily be configured to other loudspeaker layouts.
SenseLab employs high-quality components and measuring equipment that ensure accurate and reliable results in perceptual evaluation. Specifically, SenseLab uses:
Brüel and Kjær – HATS (type 5128, 4128C & 4100D)
G.R.A.S. – Kemar 45BB
Brüel and Kjær – calibration systems and sound level meters
Listen Inc. – SoundCheck
DPA and Brüel and Kjær microphones
Genelec loudspeakers
RME – Soundcards, headphone amplifiers and D/A converters
Wide selection of industry-standard headphones (Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic)
SenseLabOnlineTM is the test platform used for accurate device testing and calibrated audio/visual/VR multichannel sound reproduction in the listening room under highly controlled conditions.
The listening room is for recordings, measurements and evaluations of audio products when requirements are demanding for controlled acoustic conditions (low background noise, limited reverberation, adjustable temperature and humidity).
The booths serve as controlled and neutral spaces for evaluating recordings of audio products in blind testing paradigms. At full capacity, 60 people a week can complete 2-hour tests in these two booths. The booths are installed on rubber pads to decouple them from the vibrations of the building.
This multi-purpose room facilitates listening tests, which require longer stays in a more homely manner. This could be comfort tests or noise annoyance evaluations. Here, SenseLab's Speaker Spinners enable effective blind testing of home speaker systems in typical acoustical conditions. The room can be changed into a meeting room, which allows tests of conference speakers and cameras and can accommodate up to four new listening test stations (in addition to SenseLab's two listening booths) to optimise the test capacity.
Volume (W x L x H): 68 m3 (4.6 x 5.7 x 2.6 m)
Conforming to: IEC 60268-13
Configurations: 1) Living room, 2) Speaker Spinner tests, 3) Meeting Room, 4) Four listening test stations
Recordings on a Head And Torso Simulator (HATS) are conducted in this room.
The absorbers and diffusers are strategically placed to reach a target reverberation time and diffusiveness. This room is ideal for measuring ANC headphones and earbuds, noise reduction in smartphones and hearing aids, and 3QUEST and POLQA metrics.
